Technical problems with dawsonera download

We are experiencing some problems with our dawsonera download function. Our technical team are working hard to rectify the situation, but in order to fix the problem as soon as possible we will need to disable the function until later on this afternoon. The issue with this service has not affected the online reader function, which is working as normal.

We will update you on this matter as early as possible this afternoon.

Thank you for your continued patience. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

New way to photocopy and print.

Printers have been removed from the Dublin Rd. library floors and all print jobs are now sent to either the b/w or colour Pull Print queues. To collect your print job go to the the library copy room, login and print.

This new system also allows for printing from mobile devices. Simply download the Everyone Print app to your device and you can send a job to the print queue, the same as you would do from a pc.

Photocopying will continue to be available in the library copy room using the same Ricoh MFDs that are used for printing.

To simplify things further the charges for printing and photocopying are now the same - 10c for b&w and 20c for colour.

If you need help, just ask!

BYOD - Bring Your Own Device

There are no longer any networked pcs on the first floor of the Dublin Rd.  library. The first floor of the library is now your designated area to bring your own device (BYOD) and go wireless.

In recent years an increasing number of people using the library have their own laptops, tablets or smart phones. Simultaneously it is becoming increasingly easy to access content using these hand held devices. Consequently the provision of study spaces for people to use their own devices has been increased in the library.

All library pcs are now located on the ground floor. The IT Centre on the lower ground floor has 188 pcs available for student use so we hope there will not be a shortage of computing facilities. With free wi-fi throughout, and extra points added over the summer, the library is a great place to be with your own device for study.

Students can now print to designated printers from their laptops, mobiles, home PC's, using either an app or by logging into https://print.gmit.ie. Printer locations include the IT Centre, Library (Galway & CCAM) and Students' Union.
