There are no longer any networked pcs on the first floor of the Dublin Rd. library. The first floor of the library is now your designated area to bring your own device (BYOD) and go wireless.
In recent years an increasing number of people using the library have their own laptops, tablets or smart phones. Simultaneously it is becoming increasingly easy to access content using these hand held devices. Consequently the provision of study spaces for people to use their own devices has been increased in the library.
All library pcs are now located on the ground floor. The IT Centre on the lower ground floor has 188 pcs available for student use so we hope there will not be a shortage of computing facilities.
With free wi-fi throughout, and extra points added over the summer, the library is a great place to be with your own device for study.
Students can now print to designated printers from their laptops, mobiles, home PC's, using either an app or by logging into https://print.gmit.ie. Printer locations include the IT Centre, Library (Galway & CCAM) and Students' Union.
