Too Noisy to Study?

Getting Ready for September

The library is open for the summer but we are getting ready for September so there may be some noise.

Work on lighting is currently taking place on the ground floor and the vents in the sails are open for maintenance. Library staff are undertaking a stock inventory. For quieter study please use the 1st floor.

Noise in the Library

As the library is very crowded at the moment in the run up to exams, noise levels, and mobile phones are becoming a huge problem. The library staff are continuously getting complaints from fellow students about the noise in the library.

Despite the best efforts of the library staff and library porters, students are continually ignoring our requests by using mobiles, talking in groups and generally disregarding consideration for other students who are studying.

Please respect the rules and regulations of the library and show consideration for all users of the library at all times.

If students wish to study together, they can book a study room for that purpose, otherwise the open floor is for individual, quiet study only.
