Ebrary Ebooks now ProQuest Ebook Central

Ebrary Ebooks have recently changed to Proquest Ebook Central.

To access over 130,000 books online go to:  

http://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/gmit/ 

and login with your student/staff email and computer network password  

(how you login to a PC in GMIT).

If you previously had an Ebrary bookshelf, you will need to go through the following steps to migrate the contents.

• Upon accessing Proquest Ebook Central, click “Bookshelf” in the top right corner.
• Click “Get Started”. In the top right corner, sign in using your old ebrary username and password.
• Your bookshelf will then be transferred to Proquest Ebook Central and you should get the following message: “We moved your ebrary bookshelf to Ebook Central”.

You will no longer need a separate username and password to add items to your bookshelf. Simply add them and they will be retained, as long as you are accessing Proquest Ebook Central from the library website.

EBSCO ebook collection not opening via MultiSearch.

There is currently an issue with the linking of our EBSCO ebook collection free trial in MultiSearch. If you get an EBSCO login screen please copy the title of the book from MultiSearch and search from the trial link (http://0-search.ebscohost.com.library.gmit.ie/login.aspx?authtype=ip,uid&profile=ehost&defaultdb=e000tww)

Ebrary Ebooks & MultiSearch Problem

There is a problem linking from our search engine to the Ebrary site where the books are hosted - it is in the process of being fixed.

In the meantime you can get around it by clicking on the ebooks button just below the main search box and choosing Ebrary. Once you're in Ebrary just search for the title of the book or type in your required keywords.

Changes to accessing some ebook titles on Dawsonera.

We have received notice that the publisher have altered the digital rights on all Pearson ebooks. As a result of this, Pearson content will no longer be available to download and users will only be able to read content online.

This will be clearly indicated to users when accessing Pearson ebooks as shown in the screenshot below.
